The world’s largest specialist online toy auction company wanted to improve functionality and create a global marketplace.

What Did We Do?

We were appointed to work with the in-house marketing team to create a fully functioning marketplace that would enable Vectis to trade effectively online with a global audience.

However, during our initial consultation we reviewed the existing digital offering and concluded it had faceted navigation issues which were hampering the user experience. We advised that the functionality of the company’s primary site would need to be considerably enhanced to enable the marketplace to integrate effectively.

Before the marketplace work began we overhauled the filtering system across the Vectis site, creating internal tools to enhance the metadata to increase performance and ultimately improve the user journey across the website. Reworking the UX and UI we established the fundamental functionality of the site and then began developing the marketplace, which would enable dealers around the world to engage directly with buyers and sell their goods via a secure ecommerce platform.

The marketplace is set to launch in early 2019 and will introduce a new revenue stream to Vectis while future proofing the business model.
